The Sailor Moon R art begins today!

I have mixed feelings about R as a season. On the whole, it's my least favorite of all of the seasons, though I am very fond of the Makaiju arc. It's the Black Moon arc (the "proper" story which accounts for most of the season) that I don't particularly like. It still has its moments, but a lot of the time it just seems humorless and uninspired, and I can't say I have much time for the villains either. SuperS is the season that gets the most criticism from the fandom at large, but I'd take a randomly-selected SuperS episode over almost any episode of R's main arc. So, sorry for sounding negative, but my R-antipathy was inevitably going to come up at some point, so I thought I'd get it out of the way.

Anyway, as I said, I rather like the initial arc, which has some entertaining and very sympathetic villains. This week is dedicated to them! All misunderstood naive aliens, all of the time!
